I would love to know what your experience is with how long a sample or loops is.

I’m emailing you a 16 bar.  What do you classify this as?

Hey thanks for sending the audio samples to my email.

As mentioned, what you sent me I would consider a “beat”.

A beat consists of melodies and percussion elements (drums, claps, hi-hats, bongos, etc.)  While it wasn’t a complete beat, it was still a beat in progress.

A melody loop typically consists of just melodies so that you can add your own drums over top of it.

A drum loop typically consists of drum samples like kick drums, claps, snares, hi-hats, etc.

To make melodies, we’d use Virtual Instruments (VSTi).

To make drum loops, we use a Drum Kit like Drum Bundle TRIO.
