This is my SSL2+ Audio Interface by Solid State Logic Unboxing.

Important: A firmware release gave the SSL2+ Loopback, which is crucial for low-latency recording of your desktop screen.

In the box you get two USB cables (USB-C to USB-C, and USB-A to USB-C). The cables are super short, I needed to purchase a longer USB cable to reach my desktop 👎.

Installation of the SSL2 drivers & firmware was very easy and straightforward. I instantly tried the SSL2+ Loopback option when recording my screen, which gives SUPER low latency compared to the FL Studio ASIO driver 👍.

This is great news, as it will allow my current Music Production Computer more performance to last a bit longer.

I chose the Solid State Logic SSL2+ Audio Interface over their SSL2 because I wanted the extra headphone output so I don’t have to switch between my ear buds and headphones.

SSL2 seems to just be less connectivity than the SSL2+, but pre-amps, drivers, quality-experience seem to be the same!

There’s also the SSL12 Audio Interface, which gives the SSL 360° Enabled software, but I do not like how Audio Interfaces are turning into their software-first approach.. the SSL2+ is an all hardware audio interrface (except for its driver), and gives the awesome fast hands-on workflow a normal audio interface gives!

My first day using the SSL2+ I was impressed.

Very clean audio to my ear buds, and more enjoyable than my previous all-in-one Mackie Big Knob STUDIO audio interface / monitor controller.

I also upgraded my monitor controller to the Heritage Audio Baby RAM Passive Monitor Controller.
