Here’s How it Works:
Over my years, I’ve found that Sweetwater.com is the BEST place to do your music equipment research.
The problem is that I am located in Canada, and while many Canadian music store websites offer a decent amount of selection, they don’t offer all the brands where you can easily see ALL products and choose what one is best for you.
Step 1 – Select Product Category:
Visit Sweetwater.com and click into your product category. Let’s use Audio Interface for example. (You’ll then select what type of audio interface.. but most of us will select a USB Audio Interface).
Step 2 – Select High-to-Low Price Range:
For the pricing filter, I like to go High-to-Low, as all the top results are the most expensive (and typically better.. but not always!)
But it will sort all products by all brands from most expensive to least expensive. This allows you to do BROAD PRODUCT RESEARCH.. and figure out why one product is more expensive than another (and you can use Sweetwater’s compare button to do this, too!)
Step 3 – Enter Your MAX Price Amount:
Finally, you will enter in your MAX Price as a filter into their search criteria sidebar.
For example, if your budget is $500, enter that in, then press the arrow!
You will now see all products from High-to-Low with your price budget.
Now, once you figure out the product that suits you best, you can go and purchase that locally, whether that be at a local music shop, or on a website that ships to you affordably.
